Under the guidance and suggestion of our ValenTango instructor, Tomás Howlin, this year’s Portland ValenTango will institute the first ever “Teaching Assistant Project“. What this means is that each ValenTango instructor couple will have the option of selecting up to two Teaching Assistants (TAs) to help them with their classes. Furthermore, the ValenTango instructor will act as the TA’s Mentor during the Festival. In return the TAs will observe the following guidelines:
- Wear the special TA name badge (as shown at the right) while attending classes taught by their Mentor.
- Be available to help both their instructor and the students before, during and after all classes taught by their Mentor.
- Be encouraged to attend the Thu, Fri and Sat Free Practicas after classes to help students.
- Be encouraged to attend the milongas and be available to dance with students.
